Govt plans ₹12,000 cr scheme to boost build battery component: Report

The government is considering a ₹12,000-crore scheme to boost domestic manufacturing of battery components, Moneycontrol reported. Industry stakeholders have sought capital subsidies of up to 50% to help Indian manufacturers compete with Chinese rivals. The scheme will cover key battery components and complement the existing ₹18,100-crore incentive programme for battery-cell manufacturing.
