Govt plans minimum import price for float glass to curb Chinese imports: Report

The government may notify a minimum import price of ₹34,000 per metric tonne for float glass, Moneycontrol reported. The move aims to protect domestic glass manufacturers from high energy costs that raise production expenses and cheaper imports from China, Malaysia and Vietnam. Float glass is widely used in construction, green-building glazing, lightweight windows and other applications.
