The government has removed 44 districts where Naxal presence has been eliminated or it has been reduced to a negligible amount from a list of Naxalism-affected areas. Naxal violence is now confined only to 30 worst-affected districts, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba said. Earlier, the Home Affairs Ministry had listed 106 districts in 10 states as Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-hit.
