Amid a backlash over the push for 20% ethanol-blended petrol (E20 petrol) use, Centre backed the fuel, saying it leads to better acceleration and ride quality. Addressing car owners' claims of mileage drop due to E20 petrol usage, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said mileage is influenced by driving habits, maintenance, tyre pressure and AC load.
