Govt revises sugar import rules, allows 2-month window to sell refined sugar

The government has revised conditions for duty-free imports of up to 10 lakh tonnes of raw sugar amid rising domestic prices. Importers will now have up to two months from the date of filing the Bill of Entry to process raw sugar into refined sugar and sell it in India. Earlier, the deadline for the same was October 31.
