Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan said Budget allocating subsidies to large entities is his concern with PLI scheme. "For instance, offering subsidies to companies like Apple can be akin to pouring money into entity that is well-positioned to lobby for such incentives," he added. Notably, the government has allocated ₹4,400 crore to Apple and other smartphone makers under PLI scheme.
