Govt sent 1 blocking order to social media firms every minute between March & July: Report

The government sent blocking orders to social media firms Instagram, Facebook and YouTube every 68 seconds, which means 1,275 every day and nearly 1.95 lakh between March and July, according to The Indian Express. Instagram accounted for largest share of these government directions, receiving nearly 1 lakh blocking orders while Facebook and YouTube received 80,000 and 15,000 orders respectively.
