Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD), a police think tank under Union Home Ministry, issued alert against seven ongoing scams on WhatsApp. As part of 'hijack' fraud, scammers take access to victim's WhatsApp account to ask for money from their contacts. "Some people witnessed WhatsApp video calls from unknown numbers [which] were...nude video calls...used to threaten user," BPRD said.
