Govt tightens rules on stem cell therapy use

The government has issued an advisory regulating stem cell therapy, allowing it as standard clinical care only for Health Ministry-approved indications. For autism, stem cell use remains restricted to approved clinical trials. Unauthorised treatment, promotion or advertising may attract professional misconduct action, penalties or cancellation of registration under applicable laws.
