Govt to add unpaid household work, gig workers in PLFS

The Centre plans to revise its Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) from January 2027 to improve tracking of digital-platform gig workers and record unpaid household activities, including caregiving, domestic work, volunteering and unpaid trainee work.
