Govt warns hotels, restaurants against adding 'LPG charge' to bill

Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) took note of hotels and restaurants levying "LPG charges", "gas surcharge" and "fuel cost recovery" in consumer bills, terming it an unfair trade practice. It warned that such charges may invite strict action. "Price displayed in…menu shall be the final price," CCPA said. The warning comes amid LPG supply disruption driven by West Asia war.
