The government’s total liabilities rose by ₹4.8 lakh crore to ₹125.71 lakh crore in the July-September quarter from ₹120.91 lakh crore in the previous quarter, as per Finance Ministry data. Public debt accounted for 91.15% of total outstanding liabilities in the second quarter. The rise reflects a quarter-on-quarter increase of 3.97% in the July-September period of 2021-22.
