US government has tightened rules for foreign nationals on temporary visas seeking permanent residency in the country. "An alien...who is in US temporarily and wants Green Card must return to their home country to apply," announced Homeland Security. Adjustment of status within US will be treated as "extraordinary form of relief" to be granted only in limited cases, it said.
