The Environment Ministry rejected allegations by forest rights groups that it is attempting to "subvert" the Forest Rights Act (FRA) and called them a "gross misunderstanding of facts". Ministry said the forest rights groups "misrepresented, distorted" Minister Bhupender Yadav's statement. This comes after more than 90 forest rights organisations wrote to PM Narendra Modi, accusing the ministry.
