The GST Council may take up the long-pending issue of tax relief for life and health insurance premiums before the monsoon session of the Parliament, Moneycontrol reported. The Group of Ministers (GoM) on insurance is expected to resubmit its previous recommendation for a full GST exemption on term life insurance premiums and health insurance premiums for senior citizens.
