IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday said the recent GST reforms are expected to boost consumption, which stood at ₹202 lakh crore last year. "Consumption will [likely] increase more than 10% this year, which means there is a strong possibility of extra consumption of around ₹20 lakh crore," he stated. The new GST regime became effective from September 22.
