GST revenue up 8.1% in Sept; Maharashtra leads states

India's GST collections rose 8.1% in September, driven by a 25.9% surge in import taxes. Maharashtra topped states with ₹29,986 crore collected, up 15%, followed by Karnataka and Gujarat. Reduced refunds further boosted net revenue. For H1 of the current financial year, overall GST collections grew 11.6% year-on-year.
