The Delhi High Court upheld the decision to levy GST on auto-rickshaws and other non-air-conditioned rides through electronic commerce operators (ECOs) such as Uber. In the court, Uber India argued that GST imposition on auto-rickshaw rides could jeopardise financial autonomy of the drivers. The court said ECOs are different from individual service providers and are in compliance with GST law.
