India must build indigenous cloud, OS, cybersecurity, and AI systems to reduce over-reliance on US technology, the Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) said. Warning of risks to governance, defence, and payments if services are cut off, GTRI proposed a "Digital Swaraj Mission 2030". The GTRI urged phased self-reliance, citing UPI and ONDC as evidence of India's digital capabilities.
