Gucci has been accused of 'cultural appropriation' by members of the Sikh community in the US for selling turbans worth nearly $800 (around ₹56,000). "Those wearing the turban just for fashion won't appreciate its deep religious significance," US-based group Sikh Coalition tweeted. The headpiece, which Gucci calls 'Indy Full Turban', first made an appearance at Milan Fashion Week last year.
