Guj IAS officer's initiative cuts tribal girls' school dropout rate

IAS officer Gargi Jain’s “Collector in Classroom” mentoring programme reduced the school dropout rate among tribal girls by nearly 60% within a year in Gujarat’s Chhota Udepur. After becoming Collector, Jain began visiting schools to mentor students and encourage them to pursue their ambitions. The initiative now mentors more than 750 girls across five Kanya Vidyalayas in the district.
