The Gujarat High Court has initiated suo motu contempt proceedings against a senior counsel for "outrageous and glaring" conduct after he was seen sipping from a beer mug during a virtual court hearing. He was also seen talking on the phone during the hearing on June 25. The court took action after video of the hearing surfaced online.
