Maheshbhai Rathod died two days after he was allegedly assaulted at a community kitchen near a Gujarat hospital. He had accompanied his father to the hospital for treatment when argument broke out over leftover food and payment. Police said seven men attacked him with plastic pipes. His family said assault caused his death and is demanding that murder charges be added.
