A Gujarat court has sentenced a man to death for killing a minor girl by stabbing her 34 times for refusing to enter into a relationship with him in 2021. The 26-year-old accused, Jayesh Sarvaiya, had also injured the Class 11 student's brother when he tried to intervene. The court held that this was a "rarest of the rare case".
