North Gujarat's cumin and fennel spices, grown in Unjha, have been awarded a geographical indication (GI) tag by the government's GI registry. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel said the GI tag is another step towards taking products from villages to global markets and that it was a tribute to farmers. Over 400 products are registered in Government of India's GI registry.
