Gujarat University installs 354 anti-suicide fans in hostel rooms

The Veer Narmad South Gujarat University in Surat installed 354 anti-suicide fans across its hostels to prevent student suicides, reports stated. Vice-Chancellor Kishorsinh Chavda demonstrated how a spring mechanism releases, cuts power, and lowers the fan if over 10 kg of weight is applied. Reportedly, each fan costs around 1,500 in the first-of-its-kind initiative in Gujarat.
