Gulf war may hit handicraft exports, warns Tahir Salami

Tahir Salami, President of Handicraft Welfare Association, warned that escalating West Asia tensions could severely affect handicraft exports. With the US, Europe and Gulf nations as key markets, the conflict has disrupted payments and transport of goods. Salami said artisans were expecting orders after Feb Delhi exhibition, but uncertainty now looms over whether international buyers will proceed.
