Gunfire, explosions heard near Presidential Palace in Burkina Faso

Heavy gunfire and a large explosion were heard near the Presidential Palace and the military junta's headquarters in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, on Friday, giving rise to speculation of a mutiny. Troops were deployed on the major road junctions in the city. Military leader Paul-Henri Damiba has accused some army units of creating a "confused situation".
