Security engineer Berk Albayrak found that hackers are abusing Google Ads and AI chatbot chats to infect Macs with malware. Users searching "Claude download Mac" on Google land on claude.ai page from Google Ads which has fake installation instructions. The page tells them to paste a terminal command that hides real URL. The decoded delivery URL installs MacSync malware variant.
