J&K CM Omar Abdullah said that had Atal Bihari Vajpayee been alive the state would have never been reduced to a Union Territory. Vajpayee-led government rejected J&K Assembly's resolution for greater autonomy in 2000, Omar said. "Vajpayee realised his mistake and...[tried to] engage in a dialogue with...state government," he added. "But...he passed away and that was it." he further said.
