In order to ensure gender equality among worshippers, the Haji Ali Dargah Trust has decided to bar both men and women from entering the sanctum sanctorum at the shrine. The trust has apprised the Supreme Court that it would construct a restricted area around the tomb, called the “mujawar area”, where only “khadims” would be allowed to make offerings.
