A landmark joint venture agreement between Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has granted India manufacturing rights for the SJ-100 Superjet. As per officials, deal formalises HAL’s role in local certification, manufacturing, sales of aircraft. UAC will provide technical assistance, design services, specialist support to modernise HAL’s facilities.
