Half of Afghan women leaving their home only once or twice a month amid Taliban restrictions

Half of Afghan women now leave their homes only once or twice a month amid Taliban-imposed restrictions, UN Women said. Since it regained power in Afghanistan in 2021, Taliban has barred an estimated 24 lakh Afghan girls from secondary education. UN Women added that Taliban authorities have issued more than 100 decrees targeting women and girls since taking power.
