Studies say Kashmir's freshwater springs, which were once lifeline, are drying up due to climate change, erratic rainfall, mining, urbanisation. With thousands disappearing, people walk many kilometres for a drink of clean water. Despite efforts to revive them, the loss of these springs reflects a deeper Himalayan ecological crisis, endangering communities, agriculture, and cultural traditions.
