Congress leader Hardik Patel, two party MLAs and 27 others were reportedly detained by the police on their way to meet sacked IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt at Palanpur jail. Patel and others were arrested to avoid a law and order issue at the jail, the police said. In June, Bhatt was awarded a life sentence in a custodial death case.
