The Centre has added two more sections to Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which is meant to replace the Indian Penal Code and other criminal laws. In the fresh bill, Section 86 has been added to define "cruelty" and it includes harming a woman's mental health and her physical well-being. The other section looks to prevent revealing sexual assault survivor's identity.
