Harvard University, an elite educational institution in US, reportedly holds world's largest university endowment worth $53.2 billion (over ₹4.56 lakh crore) as of 2024. Harvard's endowment, which is a pool of invested funds, exceeds the GDP of at least 100 countries, including Iceland, Tunisia and Bahrain. The university spends 4.5-5% of its endowments annually, based on rolling average returns.
