Haryana farmer saves 500 native vegetable seeds; sells pan-India

Haryana farmer Lalu began saving native vegetable seeds in 2019 after attending a seed festival where he learned about biodiversity conservation. He has travelled to 20 states, covering 1.70 lakh km, to collect seeds of 500 types of vegetables. They include gourds, brinjals, tomatoes, tubers and more. He shares them for free with farmers and takes nominal rates from others.
