The Haryana government increased the sugarcane rates a day before Diwali on Sunday. The rate for early sugarcane varieties has been increased from ₹400 per quintal to ₹415 per quintal and for the late sugarcane varieties, the rate has been increased from ₹393 per quintal to ₹408 per quintal. An official statement said it was a Diwali gift to farmers.
