Haryana's sex ratio at birth (SRB) declined by 23 points in the first six months of 2026, falling to 900 girls per 1,000 boys from 923 in 2025, according to state health department data. SRB in 11 of the state's 22 districts fell between 829 and 895 till June, despite recording 901-951 in 2025. The decline has raised concerns over efforts to improve gender balance at birth.
