The Punjab & Haryana HC has taken note of allegations regarding embezzlement of ₹120.87 crore by the gram panchayats across Punjab and given the State time till October 17 to respond. The Bench also issued notice to other respondents, including cabinet minister Tarnpreet Singh Sondh after being told that a departmental preliminary inquiry had detected the irregularities.
