Hours after her arrest in a 24-year-old defamation case filed by Delhi L-G VK Saxena, Delhi HC ordered social activist Medha Patkar's release. Patkar was arrested for failing to comply with a court order to furnish a probation bond and pay ₹1 lakh-fine in the case. The court allowed Patkar to withdraw her plea against an order upholding her conviction.
