HC rules out minimum gap between 2 pregnancies for maternity leave

The Allahabad High Court ruled that there is no mandatory minimum gap between two pregnancies for a woman to be eligible for maternity leave. The court held that the Social Security Code, 2020, imposes no timeline between pregnancies for maternity benefits. The ruling came after a Uttar Pradesh government employee's second maternity leave was denied under a two-year gap rule.
