In a move that will hit bar-owners hard, the HC on Thursday upheld the liquor ban in Kerala. This is in keeping with the govt's revised abkari policy. The sale of liquor shall be restricted to 5-star hotels and govt-owned retail stores. Kerala has the highest per capita consumption of alcohol in the country and is known for responsible drinking.
