Heat due to climate change may increase stunting in South Asia's children: Study

A study in the 'Science' journal warns that climate change-driven heat and humidity could raise stunting among South Asian children by 2050. Using measurement height-for-age scores, the study finds babies exposed to high temperatures before birth are shorter than expected. Heat and humidity strain a pregnant woman’s ability to cool down, stressing both mother and fetus, the study says.
