Heavy rainfall in Karnataka and neighbouring Maharashtra has raised water levels in the Krishna river and its tributaries, submerging seven low-level bridges in Belagavi district. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as rivers continue to swell. Falling trees, power outages and the collapse of a cattle shed have disrupted normal life in several parts of the district.
