The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cyclone warning for Maharashtra as cyclone 'Shakti' develops in the Arabian Sea. The IMD has predicted heavy rains in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg and placed them on high to moderate alert until October 7. The department also warned that wind speeds could increase as the cyclone strengthens.
