A severe flash flood hit Sikkim and submerged the National Highway 10 in Pegong, according to officials. Heavy rainfall lashed North Sikkim district on Thursday night which resulted in the overflow of nearby rivers, allegedly leading to the flash flood. Areas such as Lachen and Lachung have been cut off from the rest of the state, officials added.
