Heavy TV watching can shrink brain: Study

A USC Dornsife-led study found that people who watched television "very often" in midlife later had smaller volumes in brain regions linked to memory, visual processing and executive function. They also showed white-matter damage associated with cognitive decline and dementia, according to the study. Notably, sitting for mentally demanding work showed protective associations instead.
