While addressing the defence ministers of NATO countries, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a review of American troops deployed in Europe. He further threatened to withhold some US dues to NATO if certain “free-riding” allies did not meet their defence spending commitments. Hegseth also criticised the NATO allies who did not support the US during the war with Iran.
